The Phoenix Rising 12 Gauge Ball and Chain rounds are also called ëboloí rounds. These rounds contain two .60 Caliber round balls connected by a 6" seven strand, braided steel cable. When fired the balls separate to create an incredible 6" wide wound channel with the cable slicing through the target. These rounds are handmade and the balls are cast around the knotted cable ends. They will not come apart like similar rounds on the market. Many other bolo rounds on the market also do not spread when fired and only create a single hole as compared the the Phoenix Rising Ball and Chain's 6" wide wound channel.
Bolo shells use two balls connected by a wire in place of small metal spheres (also known as BBs) or a solid projectile (also known as slugs). These bullets are designed for use in self-defense alone and are capable of inflicting catastrophic wounds such as amputations. At close ranges, the wire improves hit probability compared to a single projectile (within 10 yards or so). The spin on the balls makes them less than ideal for long-range accuracy.
